Nishad Party MP From UP’s Gorakhpur Joins BJP

Putting an end to speculations Nishad Party (NP) leader and Gorakhpur MP Praveen Nishad, today, joined BJP. He also vowed to support BJP in Uttar Pradesh in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Only last week, the SP had announced Ram Bhuwal Nishad as its candidate from the prestigious Gorakhpur seat. The announcement came when the Nishad Party had sprung a surprise by parting ways with the SP-BSP-RLD alliance and meeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Ram Bhuwal had been a two-time MLA from Kaudiram Assembly seat, now Gorakhpur rural, and had also been the fisheries minister during BSP chief Mayawati’s government in 2007. The SP also announced that Ram Kumar will be its nominee on the Kanpur seat.

Earlier last week, the NP had joined the alliance and it was believed that Praveen would be fielded from the seat. The NP is headed by Sanjay Nishad, the father of Praveen who won the Gorakhpur parliamentary seat on an SP ticket in the 2018 by-polls.
