Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, today, asserted that his father and former Prime Miniter HD Deve Gowda will have to play a major role at the Center after the Lok Sabha elections. He said that his father is bound to play a key role in the formation of new government at the Center, as it needed to mobilise support from several regional parties.
He expressed confidence that there will be no BJP government after Lok Sabha polls. Though Deve Gowda proved as a good administrator and experienced politician and is better than everybody to lead the country, the Chief Minister said that he is now interested to become Prime Minister. He recalled that his father has already projected name of Rahul Gandhi (for PM). He said that his father will advise Rahul Ji for good administration.
Stating that there was no tension between India and Pakistan when Deve Gowda was Prime Minister for a brief period, he asked if any terrorist activity take place in this country during Gowda’s 10 months tenure. “Did any terrorist activity go on at the India-Pakistan border? The entire country was in peace at the time when my father was the PM,” he added.
He accused that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is using Indo-Pak tensions for personal benefit. ,”Several PMs ruled this country, several times India-Pakistan war took place. Nobody took advantage of that issue for personal benefit,” he said. He also accused PM of misusing Balakot airstrike for ‘electoral gains’. “It seems that PM went to Pakistan border and he himself only dropped the bomb,” Kumaraswamy added.
