Terrorists shot dead BJP leader, PM Modi condemned

Terrorists shot dead a BJP leader by suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowgam. The BJP leader has been identified as Gul Muhammad Mir.He was immediately shifted to a hospital, where  he was pronounced brought dead.

Gul Muhammad Mir was 60-year-old and BJP district vice president.The security forces have cordoned off the area.  The incident happened in Nowgam village in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today strongly condemned the killing of J&K BJP worker Ghulam Mohammed Mir and said that there is no place for such violence in our country.

“Strongly condemn the killing of J&K BJP leader Ghulam Mohammed Mir. His contribution towards strengthening the party in J&K will always be remembered. There is no place for such violence in our country. Condolences to his family and well-wishers,” Modi tweeted.

NC leader and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah had also condemned his (Mir) killing. “Ghulam Mohd Mir, office bearer of the BJP in South Kashmir has been shot and killed in Nowgam, Verinag. I condemn this dastardly act of violence and pray for the soul of the departed, Allah Jannat naseeb karey,” Abdullah has tweeted. PDP chief and former chief minister Mehabuba Mufti also condemned the attack.

Notably, Mir was attacked two days after a former BJP worker was shot at and injured by some unidentified men in the Kachmulla village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The victim Abdul Rashid is currently undergoing medical treatment.
