On the last day of the campaigning for 2019 general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will return to power with complete majority and that National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form government for the second consecutive time.
While speaking at his first press conference at the BJP headquarters, Modi said the new government would start work at the earliest and that he would continue to work for the poor and socially weaker sections. The party president Amit Shah said that BJP will get more than 300 seats in the Lok Sabha polls and that NDA will get a bigger majority in the elections.
“It is after a long time that a full majority government will return to power by getting majority again. The start of an honest government happened on 17 May 17, 2014, a day after Lok Sabha election results were announced. The election campaign was to thank the people for their support for the last five years. People have decided that BJP has to form a full majority government again,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the press conference, Shah also said that PM spoke at 142 public meetings along with four road shows and had managed to reach out to more than 1.5 crore people through his rallies and road shows. PM covered more than 1 lakh kilometers through his election campaign, Shah said.
“BJP workers are confident of getting more than 300 seats in the elections, NDA will form government and Narendra Modi will again become Prime Minister of the country,” said Shah at the press conference.
