After a stunning performance in Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to be focusing his attention on the formation of new cabinet, searching for new faces and talent. According to BJP sources both Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are unlikely to get place in the new cabinet, due to their poor health.
Now crucial question is arising that who will be the new finance minister? In this regard BJP chief Amit Shah name is surfacing among BJP circles. Though Piyush Goyal name was in rounds, it was said to be objected by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, submitting a report to the Prime Minister brining to his notice about his alleged links with CIA.
However, as per BJP norms of `one person one post’, he has to resign as BJP chief if wish to join in the union cabinet. But Prime Minister is reportedly particular that Amit Shah should continue party chief for one more term. BJP circles are viewing that he may be given exception from `one man – one post’ norm.
In this regard, party leaders cite the example of Vijay Sampla, who is the BJP’s Punjab unit chief as well as a minister in the outgoing Modi ministry. Even, former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa is holding positions of both state party chief and also leader of opposition.
