Karnataka assembly adjourned without floor test

Ignoring Governor’s message to complete the proceedings of trust vote by the end of the day, Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar this evening adjourned the Karnataka assembly session till 11 am tomorrow.

Strongly protesting against adjournment of the house without completing trust vote process, BJP members remained in the houseBJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa announced that party MLAs will be on an all-night dharna in the Assembly.

Governor Vajubhai Vala’s message under Article 175 of the Constitution added that completing the proceedings by the end of the way will uphold the highest traditions of democracy and parliamentary practice.

In his message, the Governor said, “The motion of confidence moved by the chief minister of Karnataka is in consideration before the House today. The chief minister is expected to maintain the confidence of the House at all times during his tenure. I, therefore, send this message to the House to consider completing the proceedings of the House by the end of the day.”

Earlier, Congress filed a police complaint on its MLA Shrimant Patil’s ‘abduction’ by the BJP. The letter also states that the abduction was made by the BJP in order to defeat the trust vote and deprive his right to vote.
