Pakistan seems to be in desperate mood to attract foreign investors so that to come out from the present financial crisis. It has resorted to field belly dancers at an investors meet to attract them.
An investment summit organised by Pakistan’s Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku has drawn much attention, but for all the wrong reasons.
A video clip that is going viral on social media shows belly dancers performing at the investment conference.
The 1.19-minute long clip has been shared by Pakistani journalist Gul Bukhari on twitter with a caption reading: “When General Doctrine Chief Economist tries to lure investors into the Pakistan Investment Promotion Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan with belly dancers….”
The tweet has invited range of reactions, with one user commenting: “Pakistanis have nothing else to show to promote investment, except belly dancing.”
