Its not Durgapuja but Durgotsav; Bengalis in Bengaluru celebrating DurgaPuja

Bengaluru October 4: There is a saying that a Bengali where ever they are shall and will celebrate Durga Puja in grandeur and colourful way. Even Bengaluru is not abstained to it. There are many Durga puja pandals that you would see across the city where people from both the Bengali community and the localities meet with much fanfare. One such programme which is being celebrated in a grand way is the Durgotsav at Sindhoor Convention Centre, JP Nagar (Near Sarakki Signal)

The programme was inaugurated by Shri Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bengaluru South and Smt. Roopa Moudgil, Inspector General of Police for Railways. Inaugurating the programme Roopa said “Goddess Durga is omnipresent one and she is the embodiment of power, peace and Intelligence. Every woman should be like her and be strong and bold.”.

Tejasvi Surya mentioned that Bengalis in Bengaluru have embodied themselves very well with the society and they have been adding value in various social causes in Bengaluru. He gave his best wishes to everyone who attended the programme. The Annual Bengali Literary Magazine Bodhan was also released by Ms. Roopa.

Organized by Utsav, A Socio-Cultural organization of Bengalis in Bengaluru is now in its 8th year of celebration and shall be celebrating Durga puja from 4th to 8th October 2019. In these 4 days various cultural programmes and different types of arati and puja will be offered to goddess durga.  Further to these 4 day programme is the Kojagari Lakshmipuja on 13th October and Dipanwita Shyama Puja on 27th October.

The programme is being organized at Sindhoor Convention Centre, 15th Cross Road, 1st Phase, JP Nagar, Near Sarakki Signal (JP Nagar Metro)
